1st January 2020
Thanks to the generosity of the local community, and valuable grants from organizations including the National Lottery Heritage Fund, Hampshire County Council and South Downs National Park, we have been able to restore the beautiful church of St Mary and All Saints, and build a new kitchen and toilet facilities in a new Community annex.
The Community annex was completed in August and has since been in use to support church services and other events. The next stage in our development plan is to equip and operate our community café, Wilfrid’s – the Café on the Meon. The Café, together with the new Heritage display, will be open from 6th January onwards on Monday, Thursday, and Friday afternoons from 1pm to 4pm throughout the winter. Everybody is welcome – particularly walkers, riders (of bicycles or horses) and dog-owners. Come and see for yourselves in the New Year and enjoy the best barista coffee between West Meon and Wickham!
The Café will be run entirely by volunteers to whom we are offering appropriate training. If you would be interested in joining our enthusiastic and friendly group of volunteers for two or more afternoons a month, please contact Margaret at email@example.com .
