Annual General Meeting

The second Annual General Meeting was held at on Tuesday, 9th December

in Droxford Church

Agenda:

       2. Election of officers and Committee

The existing officers were will to serve again and were duly elected.  The Meeting welcomed arrival of Nicholas Ridge as the new PCC representative, and Michael Chandler, our archaeological advisors as new committee members and thanked Peter O’Sullivan who is retiring.

         3. Treasurer’s Report – examined accounts were presented by the Treasurer (Click Here to download – to be added)

         4.Resolutions

Two amendments proposed by the Committee to update the FODC Constitution were passed.  These have effect of removing references to the Kairos initiative which are no longer relevant and including a new reference to our heritage initiative.

Amend Clause 1a to read:

The Friends are established to raise funds for the church of St Mary and All Saints Droxford, in the Diocese of Portsmouth, in order to improve its facilities and to preserve it as a place of Christian worship, a heritage centre for the local area, and a venue of choice for sacred and secular events for the benefit of the local community.

Amend Clause 9a to read:

The PCC is the legally appointed body for all church works and maintenance and as such must remain the controlling organism for implementation of changes to the building.

       5.  Any other business – Michael Profit announced a potential event in February or March 2015 to commemorate the return of Admiral Sturdee to Droxford following his victory in the First Battle of the Falkland Islands in December 1914.
